His doctor said the heart \u201clooks like it belongs there.\u201d Hearing those words brought an overwhelming sense of relief.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Even more encouraging, the surgical team was able to close Ollie\u2019s chest in the operating room, which should help shorten his recovery time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>When his parents finally walked into the room, they saw something they\u2019ll never forget \u2014 Ollie\u2019s fingers, toes, and lips a perfect pink. His color, his warmth, his glow \u2014 it all spoke of new life, of oxygen flowing freely for the very first time.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They kissed him, whispered that they loved him, and felt a wave of gratitude that words can\u2019t really hold. Gratitude for the medical team that cared for him like their own. Gratitude for the donor family who turned heartbreak into hope.
