{"id":18,"date":"2020-07-16T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2020-07-16T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cota1.wpengine.com\/cotaforpearlr\/2020\/07\/16\/july-2020\/"},"modified":"2020-07-16T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2020-07-16T00:00:00","slug":"july-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cota.org\/cotaforpearlr\/2020\/07\/16\/july-2020\/","title":{"rendered":"July 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>So here we are in July, half way between virtual graduation and a possible in person graduation.&nbsp; And yet again, the world hands us some lemons!&nbsp; So, since the crazy inpatient visit just before quarantine, we have been doing labs more frequently.&nbsp; Since the numbers have stayed slightly elevated, in June they asked us to repeat labs in July.&nbsp; Well, those labs were a lot higher, 100+ on labs that should be 50 or less.&nbsp; So they asked us to repeat in a week.&nbsp; Oh joy, now they&#8217;re in the 200&#8217;s.&nbsp; So 3 days later (today) we went for labs and an ultrasound.&nbsp; Ultrasound is the same as the last two, so fatty deposits, but no major changes.&nbsp; But, labs are now high 200s and one is even over 300!&nbsp; So tomorrow they will order a biopsy and call us with the dates, and, of course, she&#8217;ll need a COVID test within 48 hours of the biopsy.&nbsp; I think it has to be done in Boston, so two trips to Boston in 48 hours is coming up!&nbsp; I was actually surprised they let us go home, but it being late on a Thursday, they probably figure Monday would be the soonest biopsy, and we would have sat there all weekend without anything much being done.&nbsp; She&#8217;s miserable for the most part because it&#8217;s caused her pain syndrome to act up.&nbsp; Right now she&#8217;s playing Minecraft with Will, so not too bad.&nbsp; Hopefully Ethan will visit this weekend and take her mind off it!<\/p>\n<p>Thank goodness for virtual visits!&nbsp; I&#8217;ve not had to use a lot of vacation or sick days, so we&#8217;re ready for this (well, kind of).&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A funny event from today (well two).&nbsp; First, one of our favorite nurses was minding the employee checkin, so we got to talk to her briefly on the way in and out today.&nbsp; Second, while we were eating and killing time waiting for the traffic to thin, Pearl started working on some masks.&nbsp; There was an elderly couple sitting nearby, and Pearl decided to make a mask for the woman.&nbsp; When she went over to give it to her, the woman talked to her for a while, then prayed for her.&nbsp; It was sweet!&nbsp; And we&#8217;ll definitely take any prayers, good vibes, good juju, or whatever it is that you can send her way!!!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>So here we are in July, half way between virtual graduation and a possible in person graduation.&nbsp; And yet again, the world hands us some lemons!&nbsp; So, since the crazy inpatient visit just before quarantine, we have been doing labs more frequently.&nbsp; Since the numbers have stayed slightly elevated, in June they asked us to [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":0,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-18","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/cota.org\/cotaforpearlr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/18","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/cota.org\/cotaforpearlr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/cota.org\/cotaforpearlr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/cota.org\/cotaforpearlr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=18"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/cota.org\/cotaforpearlr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/18\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/cota.org\/cotaforpearlr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=18"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
