It is a scoring system used for children under 12 who are waiting for a liver transplant. The score helps the transplant team determine how seriously a child is affected by liver disease and how urgently they need a transplant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The higher the PELD score, the more medically serious the situation is. A score of 31 is not a small number. It reflects significant liver disease in a little six-year-old who is waiting for a life-saving organ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Her PELD score can change as her labs and medical condition change, so her transplant team watches her very closely. But right now, 31 is a reminder of just how much she needs a liver transplant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When we ask you to pray, we aren&#8217;t asking for prayers simply because she&#8217;s on a transplant list. We are asking you to pray for a precious little girl whose body is fighting a battle that no six-year-old should have to face.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Please pray that:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"16\" width=\"16\" alt=\"\ud83d\ude4f\" src=\"https:\/\/static.xx.fbcdn.net\/images\/emoji.php\/v9\/t80\/1\/16\/1f64f.png\"> Her liver will continue to hold on while she waits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"16\" width=\"16\" alt=\"\ud83d\ude4f\" src=\"https:\/\/static.xx.fbcdn.net\/images\/emoji.php\/v9\/t80\/1\/16\/1f64f.png\"> Her body will remain strong enough for transplant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"16\" width=\"16\" alt=\"\ud83d\ude4f\" src=\"https:\/\/static.xx.fbcdn.net\/images\/emoji.php\/v9\/t80\/1\/16\/1f64f.png\"> Her doctors and transplant team will have wisdom in every decision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"16\" width=\"16\" alt=\"\ud83d\ude4f\" src=\"https:\/\/static.xx.fbcdn.net\/images\/emoji.php\/v9\/t80\/1\/16\/1f64f.png\"> A suitable donor liver will become available at the right time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"16\" width=\"16\" alt=\"\ud83d\ude4f\" src=\"https:\/\/static.xx.fbcdn.net\/images\/emoji.php\/v9\/t80\/1\/16\/1f64f.png\"> And most importantly, that God will protect her, strengthen her, and carry her through every step of this journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We are incredibly thankful for every person who has chosen to stand beside our family, pray for our daughter, and help us carry this burden.
