Roya had a great summer upon returning home and was able to play soccer and tennis again, return to a summer day program with her peers, and do lots of beach and forest bathing. (So needed after her time as inpatient.) In August she started getting short of breath and then acquired a cough that is now chronic. In October she was tested for allergies and we found out that she was allergic to both cats and dogs and we had to relocate our family pets including her beloved Make a Wish puppy. She had a sinus surgery due to chronic sinusitis on October 30th ; it was a lengthy four hours long as they removed numerous polyps. Yesterday she had a scan on her lungs and due to the findings will have a bronchoscopy in a little over a week. Her heart is looking good so far and she will have a cardiac cath procedure once she\u2019s a year out to have a biopsy to definitively check for rejection. We are thankful for the expertise of her care team at the Mayo, for the Ronald McDonald house, and our numerous (monthly plus) trips this summer and beyond to Rochester have made it like a second home.
