Her transplant status is reviewed every two weeks, and every time it feels like we\u2019re holding our breath. We\u2019ve also been told that at some point she could be downgraded to 1B \u2014 and while 1B still means she needs a heart, the wait for a donor is typically much, much longer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So as hard as it is to say out loud, we want her to stay at 1A. It gives her the best chance of receiving a heart as soon as possible. Today, we get to celebrate that win. We have 1A status for the next two weeks, and we just keep hoping like hell for ongoing stability and the ultimate gift.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sabrina also had another echo yesterday. The results remain the same \u2014 and as gut-wrenching as it is to hear \u201cunchanged\u201d when all we want is improvement, stable truly is a good thing. It means her heart isn\u2019t getting worse. So we\u2019re celebrating that, too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The best part of this week is that Sabrina has been feeling good. Yesterday I stepped out to grab a coffee, and when I came back she was giggling with a whole crew of nurses just hanging out with her. They absolutely adore her.
