Hello All! Several months have passed since Tamir was admitted to Children’s Lurie Hospital. During these past months Tamir has had tremendous growth. He has sprouted from 13.6 pounds to 22.2 pounds! A large portion of this is due to efforts by the staff at Children’s Lurie. We thank and appreciate them so much! They found him a more sustainable milk option and have removed his NG-Tube from his stomach. He now receives nutrients via the NJ Tube through his nose and he’s had great success since its insertion. Although he has had some triumphs he has also had some setbacks. Recently during a sleep study it was discovered that he stopped breathing over 160 times which resulted in his oxygen levels decreasing from 100% to the 60-70 percentile range. After trying different solutions, doctors decided it was best for him to receive a tracheostomy. Since having the trachea put in, his oxygen levels have returned to normal, he has better range of motion, and he is attempting to walk! <\/p>\n
Tamir and our family truly appreciates all of the love and outpouring of support we have received during this challenging time. We will continue to fight for his life and we encourage you to join. <\/p>\n
