COTA help arrange the trip and funds from COTA made the second opinion possible!&nbsp; Our insurance has approved the facility and operation.&nbsp; Alice and I will be moving to the Stanford campus&#8217; Ronald McDonald house to await a liver.&nbsp; At a PELD of 30, transplant could be very soon!<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"cursor: text; outline-color: transparent; outline-style: none; outline-width: 0px;\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div style=\"cursor: text; outline-color: transparent; outline-style: none; outline-width: 0px;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">More good news! Stanford performed tests and Alice can accept a liver from blood types O, A &amp; B!&nbsp; This gives her so many more opportunities for a life saving transplant in time!&nbsp; If you were considering being a live donor and blood type prevented further pursuit, please consider screening now.&nbsp; The Stanford link is : <a style=\"color: #005cab; text-decoration: none;\" href=\"https:\/\/stanfordhealthcare.org\/medical-treatments\/l\/liver-transplant\/types\/living-donors.html\">https:\/\/stanfordhealthcare.org\/medical-treatments\/l\/liver-transplant\/types\/living-donors.html<\/a>&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"cursor: text; outline-color: transparent; outline-style: none; outline-width: 0px;\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div style=\"cursor: text; outline-color: transparent; outline-style: none; outline-width: 0px;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Of course, the higher the PELD and the higher up the transplant list one moves, the sicker they are.&nbsp; &nbsp;Alice struggles with fluid retention that crowds her lungs, jaundice and itchiness due to the liver issues.&nbsp; She is able to take more volume on her feeds and is off the feed for longer times.&nbsp; She also enjoys some table food which is a great victory when a child is on a feeding tube &#8211; many struggle with food aversion.&nbsp; The lack of aversion will benefit her post transplant in her journey to healthy young child!<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"cursor: text; outline-color: transparent; outline-style: none; outline-width: 0px;\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div style=\"cursor: text; outline-color: transparent; outline-style: none; outline-width: 0px;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Please continue to keep Alice and our family in your thoughts and prayers and check our website and Facebook for updates.
