Our medical team is aiming to discharge Lindsey to home (Michigan) in the first week of April.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In order to get to that point, we have to have two more weeks of good lab results. It looks like the prednisone that we added to treat the pre-rejection episode is working, and Lindsey will come off that slowly over the next month or so. We also switched to a different antibiotic to treat the C. Diff. and that has helped greatly. We are saying a Shehechianu (a Jewish prayer to thank God for getting us to this moment) and hoping that her recovery continues to go well.<\/p>\n<p>In the meantime Lindsey&#8217;s hourly pleas to reunite with our dog finally made me cave in, and I drove the dog to Pittsburgh for the weekend when I came back here. Lindsey and Whiskey had a fabulous two days of playing and snuggling, and then Mike drove Whiskey back to Michigan.<\/p>\n<p>Here are some pictures of their adventures in Schenley Park, Market Square (with the Starbucks puppucino), and in Point State Park on the riverwalk.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/cota.org\/uploads\/2238\/images\/fetch.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/>&nbsp;&nbsp;<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/cota.org\/uploads\/2238\/images\/L_and_whiskey_riverwalk.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cota.org\/uploads\/2238\/images\/L_and_whiskey_bridge.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/>&nbsp; &nbsp;<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/cota.org\/uploads\/2238\/images\/L_and_whiskey_statue.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Tulips in Schenley Park show that spring is coming!!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/cota.org\/uploads\/2238\/images\/tulips.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/cota.org\/uploads\/2238\/images\/tulips.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Whiskey was a bit concerned about why we were in the car for 6 hours&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/cota.org\/uploads\/2238\/images\/whiskey_car.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Puppucino in Market Square. Now that Whiskey recognizes Starbucks cups, no innocent Starbucks drinker is safe.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/cota.org\/uploads\/2238\/images\/whiskey_puppucino.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Lindsey rediscovering Happy Meals now that &#8220;chicken nuggies&#8221; are her favorite.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/cota.org\/uploads\/2238\/images\/happy_meal.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And finally, a silly painting from a new restaurant (for us) called <a href=\"http:\/\/www.franktuary.com\">Franktuary<\/a>. It describes itself as a &#8220;quirky spot for thoughtfully sourced hot dogs, poutine, and cocktails, served in a church-themed space.&#8221; Lindsey enjoyed the Reykjavik dog and I liked the fried cauliflower.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/cota.org\/uploads\/2238\/images\/franktuary.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Our thanks continue to go out to donors who have supported COTA in honor of Lindsey to assist with a lifetime of transplant-related expenses.
