Mia was extubated 4 days after surgery on Sunday May 10th. She was then placed on supplemental oxygen via nasal cannula for a couple of days. On May 12th, the doctors decided Mia was ready to be taken off of oxygen. She is tolerating being off of oxygen well. Mia continues to receive feedings via nasogastric (NG) tube, but her feedings are increasing little by little. PT, OT, and Speech Therapy have been visiting Mia once a day Monday-Friday. PT and OT are currently working with Mia on head control and side-lying positions while speech therapy is helping Mia with latch and suck support to get Mia back on the bottle. Mia also has Music therapy once a week.
