Our prayers were answered, and our sweet boy received the call! \ud83d\ude4f\ud83c\udffc<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last Monday night we learned that Nolan was the primary candidate for an offer his team really liked, and they were traveling to review everything in person the next day. It had been a rainy week and when the doctor came by Tuesday to tell us they officially accepted the offer, I looked out the window and saw the sun for the first time in a long time\u2600\ufe0f<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nolan received his new liver Wednesday morning, and his new kidney the next day. Handing Nolan over to the team and watching them wheel him to the OR was one of the hardest things I\u2019ve ever done and time has never moved as slow as it did while we waited for updates. But by the grace of God both surgeries went well and his new organs are working! We have a long road to recovery and Nolan\u2019s team told us to expect bumps in the road, but we\u2019re off to a good start. We\u2019re taking it day by day from here, so please keep those prayers coming \ud83d\ude4f\ud83c\udffc<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is still surreal and I haven\u2019t fully processed that this actually happened. It\u2019s also really complicated to know that this day we\u2019ve prayed so hard for was a day that caused unthinkable grief for another family. I will be forever grateful for their selfless decision, I promise to find a way to honor his donor, and I really hope we raise Nolan to become someone his donor family would be proud of. \ud83d\udc9a<\/p>\n\n\n\n
