Ryan&#8217;s family spent the night in the ICU prepping for the day ahead.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Ryan was taken down to the OR around 7:30am this morning. At approximately 9:30am the surgeon came out and informed us that the new lungs did not pass final inspection and they were not comfortable going through with the transplant.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Ryan is in good spirits and we are so thankful the transplant team decided not to use lungs that weren&#8217;t perfect for him. Ryan will be staying inpatient for a few days to recover from the anesthesia and give him a bump in his lung function.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Please keep Ryan&#8217;s family and the donor&#8217;s family whose lungs were so generous and selflessly offered in your thoughts.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">In the transplant world, this is what we call a DRY RUN.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>At approximately 9:45pm on Sunday night Ryan received the call for new lungs.
