Tj started having more pain and discomfort this morning, so the doctor made changes to his pain medications. His magnesium levels were low and as a result Tj was started on magnesium supplement via IV. Tj had a few additional changes; he was started on new feed that has less fat in it. The new feed will help decrease the fat being secreted through his drain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Outside of the changes made there have been a few other stumbles, Tj developed a rash around his neck this afternoon that has been treated by Benadryl cream, there are no other symptoms of an allergic reaction so doctors will just continue to monitor the rash. Tj had multiple seizures throughout the afternoon and evening. Tj’s PRN rescue medications unfortunately was not able to stop his seizure activity. Doctors added another recuse medication that slowed the seizure activity. Tj is on his max dose for both of his seizure medications, so an additional medication was added to have better control over his seizures. Tj was unable to sit in the chair today due to having a lot of seizure activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tj was started on the new seizure medication overnight and only had one seizure overnight and none this morning. His magnesium levels are slightly low, so the doctors are letting his body regulate his magnesium, because magnesium was the only new medication given when the rash on his neck appeared. The rash is clearing as a Benadryl cream is working.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tj’s sugar levels have been all over from really high to extremely low. Tj has not had a bowel movement in over 24hrs. They have increased his laxative dose and added Mirilax to help him have a BM. Tj has progressed with his digestion system. He is able to stop his feeds for up to a 4-hour window to allow him the motivation to eat. He is still on a clear liquid diet. He has really been enjoying the Jello. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Despite the stumbles, Tj gave a lot of smiles today during therapy. He was able to sit up on the toilet today. He also was able to leave the room and go to the therapy room. While in the therapy room he was able to throw the ball with dad. All though we are having some bumps along the way, Tj is still smiling and pushing his way through. The Behavioral Psychologist told that the TPIAT surgery is hard on kids and with Tj\u2019s Autism and other medical issues that it is extremely hard on him. She can\u2019t believe he is giving us smiles and being silly at times.
