Looking at this photo, you might just see a girl finally seeing daylight after nearly two weeks in a hospital bed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But if you look closer\u2026 you\u2019ll see a zebra \ud83e\udd93.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cRare. Not Imaginary.\u201d stitched on her sleeve\u2014a truth she\u2019s been living for years. A rare disease\u2026 never imaginary, even when others couldn\u2019t see the battle she fought every single day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When I look at this photo, I don\u2019t just see recovery\u2026 I see strength. I see perseverance. I see a young woman who has endured more than most ever will\u2014and still chose to step into the unknown with courage and hope.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Because this wasn\u2019t just any surgery. This was a risk. A leap into something uncertain\u2026 with everything on the line.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And now here we are\u2014one week out from a second surgery that made things incredibly touch and go this past week and yet Taylor trusted her team and had faith in her surgeons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She\u2019s still here. Still standing. Still fighting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Taylor is #174.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Let that sink in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Out of every child who has undergone TPIAT at Cincinnati Children\u2019s\u2026 she is number 174. One of a very small group of warriors who have taken on a surgery this complex, this life-altering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But it doesn\u2019t stop there\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Taylor is also #27.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Not 127. Not 57.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
27.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Only 27 patients have been able to keep their spleen through this entire process\u2026 and Taylor is one of them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That\u2019s not luck. That\u2019s not coincidence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That\u2019s strength. That\u2019s faith. That\u2019s fight. That\u2019s her story.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
