Zach was discharged from the hospital today. He was discharged to the Ronald McDonalds House tonight which is directly across the street from the hospital. He still has a long recovery period and many appointments over the next 3 weeks before we can head home. This surgery requires us to come back every 3 months for a check up to see how the transplanted cells are coming along. This will be a never ending journey for us back and forth but I believe in the long run will be beneficial to Zach\u2019s future. The nursing staff had a big send off prepared for him but anyone who knows Zach, knows he not much for having a big todo made of him so he asked that they don\u2019t do that so instead he received a special pillow that says \u201cPancreas who Needs One\u201d signed by a couple of the doctors and a big sign from the nursing staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>MESSAGE FROM ZACH:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Officially discharged, just have to still be in ohio for another almost 3 weeks. i thank everyone for everything, it means a lot to me and has helped me through this journey, yes it has been very hard but you guys have made it easier.
