365 days………..

What we thought would be a 24-48 hour stay in the hospital back on January 3, 2014 has turned into a full year, 365 days in-patient.  We would hear the nurses talk about patients who had been in the hospital for a year or longer and we couldn’t believe it nor did we think it would happen to us.   It has been a year filled with heart ache, fear, hopelessness, happiness, joy and hopefulness.  We’ve had discussions of planning Porter’s funeral to making a trip cross country to Texas, and now we’re planning his journey home.  The light at the end of the tunnel has been so far out of sight but is starting to brighten as we work on getting plans laid out for Porter’s transfer back to UNC and HOME- our real house.  Our family has been so blessed with the outpouring of support and prayers from family, friends, friends of friends and people we don’t even know.  The power of prayer is amazing and Porter is living proof of that.  He has been a fighter since before he was born and continues to show us all his strong will.  Thank you all for your continued support.
