I just wanted to take a minute and update my blog on my health issues. Piedmont Transplant Team has scheduled my surgery for Nov. 30th for my nephrectomy “removal of native kidneys”.  Dr. Gooden will be doing my surgery and she has a high reputation for removing large PKD kidneys.  I will be in the hospital for 4 – 5 days then home.  It will take about 8 to 9 weeks for recovery so I will be home until the New Year; hopefully able to return to work in February.  I will continue to blog on my recovery process but my surgeon says the first 2 – 3 weeks is going to be rough since I will not be use to Hemodialysis and trying to manage my pain.  

I wanted to thank everyone who has made a donation to support COTA in my honor. I am so grateful for COTA, friends, co-workers and family members that have been so considerate and supportive of me during my journey.
