Hi, I am Aaliyah

I am cute, energetic and very smart, this is my story!

My grandma calls me amazing princess Aaliyah. I am very independent, love dancing and making videos of myself doing fun stuff. I live my family and have fun with them. My brother is so nice and loves me alot. He taught me how to swim under water, it’s so much fun.

Now that you know a little about me this is my liver transplant journey. I was born March 31,2016 10lbs 9 oz. I am super special I was born with choledochal cyst 4a. When I was in my mommy’s stomach the doctor knew I have a liver problem. I was in NICU for 5 weeks. I was very swollen and could not form my lips to suck a bottle, had an IV to feed myself untill the physical therapist got my mouth working to be able to suck on a bottle. I also had an irregular heart beat, but my heart is strong like me now. The doctors take pictures and do bloodwork every six months. The cysts in and around my liver started getting bigger. I had to go to another state to see a specialist to look at my liver after alot of tests, the doctor decided I would need a liver transplant. I have been getting the vaccines, and bloodwork the doctor says I need before the transplant. The nurse is nice she uses a butterfly needle because I told her the big needles really hurt. I am on the liver transplant list. I continue to take my medicine and keep playing and learning. I will start kindergarten this year, I am a happy princess and know a liver will help me live a full healthy life. I will keep you updated with new things I do and how the wait on the list is going.
