Our Story

Ace Northern is a cute and vibrant 7-month-old resident of Alton, IL. He is the son of Trevon Northern and Marshala Thomas. Ace is sitting up, holding his bottle, enjoys playing with his toys and has one of the most hilarious laughs you will ever hear.

Ace was born with myelomeningocele. While still in the womb, he underwent his first major surgery. A week prior to turning 7 months, Ace was taken to the hospital for a slight fever. After his parents noticed pale-colored stool, a second trip to the ER occurred. After labs and scans were completed, Ace was diagnoses with acute liver failure. As a result, he has been placed on the transplant list.

Ace’s family has partnered with the Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) for assistance with transplant-related expenses. Please consider donating to COTA for Ace.

The Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) helps children and young adults who need a life-saving transplant by providing fundraising assistance and family support. COTA is the nation’s only fundraising organization solely dedicated to raising life-saving dollars in honor of transplant-needy children and young adults. 100% of each contribution made to COTA in honor of our patients helps meet transplant-related expenses. COTA’s services are free to our families, and gifts to COTA are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
