Our Story

Adleigh is a beautiful and full of life five-year-old little girl who is waiting on a liver transplant. At seven weeks old, she was diagnosed with biliary atresia and underwent the Kasai procedure the very next day. Her childhood has been spent in and out of Children’s hospital where she has undergone more in her five years of life than many will in a lifetime. However, she hasn’t allowed any of this to take away her sass, her light, or her sweet spirit. She is a child who has her heart set on the Lord. She loves people and animals, and has the desire to help others in any way that she can. She loves to sing, dance, and perform! She enjoys the big stage, and pageants are one of her favorite things. She is not at all intimidated by a crowd. She also enjoys gymnastics and being outdoors. While she does love the sparkle and glam, she also enjoys hunting, fishing, camping, and gardening with her family. Her three-year-old little brother Eli is her built-in best friend and they have the sweetest bond. She is currently being evaluated for liver transplantation in Pittsburgh, PA, and in Birmingham, AL. Our prayer is that the Pittsburgh evaluation will produce a living donor match!

The Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) helps children and young adults who need a life-saving transplant by providing fundraising assistance and family support. COTA is the nation’s only fundraising organization solely dedicated to raising life-saving dollars in honor of transplant-needy children and young adults. 100% of each contribution made to COTA in honor of our patients helps meet transplant-related expenses. COTA’s services are free to our families, and gifts to COTA are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
