Adriel had monthly check ups at Riley, having an echo, ekg, and seeing Dr. Parent for follow up appointments.

At 12 months, they decided that Adriel wasn’t gaining the weight he needed, and they determined a gtube was necessary to put in place to help him with extra calories. The gtube to aid with Adriel’s nutrition was placed on January 21, 2022.

Family had a hard time accepting that he needed a gtube, because they felt like they had failed, when they’ve been doing everything to help Adriel thrive, but mom and dad also knew they could only do so much and trusted them to get him the nutrition he needed to thrive.
