01/17/2024 Update – No Signs of Rejection!

The last couple days have been busy for us with Jaxon. Yesterday he had his first heart catheter and biopsies (routine) post-transplant. The preliminary results show no signs of rejection!

He will have another in 4 weeks. Today Jaxon had a tracheotomy. He now has the ventilator through his trach so the tube down his throat is out! This will make him more comfortable and allow him to start rehabilitation.

He was already happier to press his lips together and have ChapStick on. He tried to speak, and we had to remind him he can’t speak yet. Not sure what he will think about all this when he fully wakes up.

As of now, they are hoping to remove 2/4 chest tubes from the transplant on Friday and the other two on Sunday. They will do the first trach change Tuesday. Once they do that, the rehabilitation can officially begin!

Please keep praying for it boy. He continues to need each and every one he can get.

Love, Niki & Adam
