Yesterday the dialysis machine was stopped to see if his kidneys can function properly on their own. He had one liter of output overnight.
They will be putting a line in for dialysis just in case he needs it. It previously ran through RVAD. They had hoped he would be ready to discontinue the RVAD by now.
However, he still needs the RVAD support. Today ,they are changing the RVAD machine to a different machine that will help with less clotting. His white blood cell count decreased a little bit more today which is a positive step. They gave him blood this morning to help with some of his numbers that decreased from yesterday.
He will continue on the anti-fungal medication for 6 weeks. He will also continue his antibiotics. As for the ventilator, he’s not ready to have it decreased at this time. So, he will continue on the ventilator for longer than we had hoped.
Please continue to pray for Jaxon’s strength, God to heal him, and wisdom for the team treating him. Also please pray for our kids back home. While they are in great hands while we are gone, we miss them horribly and they miss us as well.
Love, Niki & Adam
