With today being world kidney day, we thought what better day to express our deepest thanks and gratitude.  Ryan and I are simply blown away by everyone’s generosity, support and kind words.  It means more than we can even express.

Aidan’s most recent labs (last week) showed stable numbers overall.  His PTH keeps rising, so his nephrologist has recommended an increase in his medication to help with that.  We are relieved by this latest update.  This is his last lab draw pre transplant (aside from in anticipation for his new kidney).  To us, this is a milestone.  One step closer.  

We did it.  We just may have avoided dialysis (for now).  This was Ryan and my goal.  We knew the transplant was inevitable.  Kidney failure was inevitable.  But focusing on doing what we could to avoid dialysis was what kept us from feeling out of control, looking only at the next stair and not the whole staircase.
