Ali’s journey with Kidney failure started in September of 2021 when she was taken to the Emergency Room for abdomen pain by her mom. They ran a lot of different tests as the doctor was thinking that it was something to do with her appendix. Lab results came back and turned to a fear that parents never want to hear about their child, Ali was diagnosed with kidney failure. Ali was then sent by ambulance to Dell Children’s hospital in Austin it was a long night for Ali and her mom as she was in pain most of the night. Currently Ali is in stage 5 kidney failure. Ali starts one of the hardest journeys in her life on October 11, 2022 when she will go into surgery to have her port put in for her dialysis that will start soon.

Ali’s mom Kelly was informed from the doctor’s office that she could reach out of Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA). So, with the assistance of Sandi Hickman (Kelly’s Sister), Jean Worrell (Kelly’s Sister), and Zachary Worrell (Kelly’s nephew) a COTA campaign was started. The COTA campaign is COTA For Alis Fight. Her COTA website is www.COTAForAlisFIght.com. All donations made in honor of Alis Fight are available for a lifetime of transplant-related expenses. The COTA website also has her journey Facebook page attached to it as well as events that the community can help in. COTA is a federally recognized 501 (c) 3 nonprofit so this means your donations are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
