Our Story

Violet has had multiple surgeries in the course of her 8 months of life. She was diagnosed with Biliary Atresia a few months ago. Biliary Atresia is a rare liver disease that is life threatening. Despite the Kasai procedure, a surgical treatment to treat this disease, unfortunately it was unsuccessful. Her jaundice has not improved, and her liver issues are affecting her ability to gain weight.

The only option at this time is a liver transplant. Being away from home with Violet’s two other siblings has been hard emotionally and financially. Her dad has to be away from us to work and cover other expenses that come up while violet is in the process of a transplant evaluation.

It would be a blessing for us if you would consider donating to COTA in honor of Violet to help ease this difficult time.

The Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) helps children and young adults who need a life-saving transplant by providing fundraising assistance and family support. COTA is the nation’s only fundraising organization solely dedicated to raising life-saving dollars in honor of transplant-needy children and young adults. 100% of each contribution made to COTA in honor of our patients helps meet transplant-related expenses. COTA’s services are free to our families, and gifts to COTA are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
