Amari Knight is a sweet, lovable, & amazing young boy who was born on August 31, 2021. He was born healthy & happy with an amazing mom & sister by his side. Around his first birthday his mom noticed he was having a hard time breathing & took him to the hospital. From there they found out that not only did he have RSV, but he has stage 5 kidney failure, End Stage Renal Disease, & NPHP3. Everything drastically changed for their family.
Amari needs around the clock care, so his mom eventually had to leave her full-time job to become his fulltime care giver. Hospital stays have become the new normal for them. He has been through multiple surgeries along with living daily with a catheter, feeding tube & nightly dialysis. Thankfully they are surrounded by an amazing support system & he is such a strong boy. Amari loves playing with his toys. His favorite song is “My Girl” by the temptations. His favorite is his xylophone. He loves to learn & is very smart.
Amari’s family is partnering with The Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) to raise funds in honor of Amari Knight. 100% of the donations raised will be available for a lifetime and will assist with transplant-related expenses, such as treatment, surgeries, and travel back & forth to the hospital. Please consider donating to COTA in honor of Amari Knight by clicking the GIVE NOW button.
The Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) helps children and young adults who need a life-saving transplant by providing fundraising assistance and family support. COTA is the nation’s only fundraising organization solely dedicated to raising life-saving dollars in honor of transplant-needy children and young adults. 100% of each contribution made to COTA in honor of our patients helps meet transplant-related expenses. COTA’s services are free to our families, and gifts to COTA are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
