Ava Hope Graham was diagnosed with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome at 20 weeks, on May 10, 2013 in utero. Please follow and support Amazing Ava along her journey.
On September 16, 2013 Ava Hope Graham came into this world and is the most amazing baby girl. Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS) means that the left ventricle of her heart is not functioning. There is no cure! She had a series of 3 open heart surgeries by the age of 4. These surgeries are only designed to re-direct blood flow so that the heart can function as normal as possible. Most HLHS patients need a heart transplant at some point in their life and the time has come for Ava. She is currenty at Riley Hospital awaiting her hero heart. She has been listed on the transplant list since April 20th, 2022.
The Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) helps children and young adults who need a life-saving transplant by providing fundraising assistance and family support. COTA is the nation’s only fundraising organization solely dedicated to raising life-saving dollars in honor of transplant-needy children and young adults. 100% of each contribution made to COTA in honor of our patients helps meet transplant-related expenses. COTA’s services are free to our families, and gifts to COTA are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
