Day 67: Pancake Day was a success! Jackson made two perfect pancakes, quite an achievement for any chef. The rest of the day Jackson received another IVIG infusion to help his immune system during his recovery. It will be another quiet weekend here in the hospital, but the rest is needed.
Our current prayer requests are:
GVHD (labs to improve, rash, nausea)
EBV (control activation)
Physical rehabilitation (Left foot, nerve restoration)
Emotional strength (siblings as well)
Advancing J tube feeds
We ask that you continue to pray for his medical team, his acceptance of organs and the family of the donor who have given Jackson the gift of life.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Day 68: Twinning with his mom was not on Jackson’s agenda but he was a good sport about it. His new medicine regimen is keeping the EBV stable, the GVHD rash looks significantly better and he is almost at his goal feed intake. Although his road to recovery still has a way to go, we see God in each day that has led us to today, and we are thankful. Him and I are still in disbelief our leap of faith leaving the siblings behind in July opened the door to transplant so quickly.
Our current prayer requests are:
GVHD (meds to keep working)
EBV (control activation)
Physical rehabilitation (Left foot, nerve restoration)
Emotional strength (siblings as well)
Advancing J tube feeds (so close)

Day 69: Not having his siblings has been tough but Jackson made his favorite pancake mix in to his baby, diaper and all. I’m not sure how we will eat those but that a problem for another day. The weekend was pretty quiet, just trying to advance his feed to his goal. We are so close but his new intestines do not like the increased calories. The ups and downs of recovery are intense but we are excitedly ready for discharge, when the time is right!
