Our Story

A’Miracle entered this world with stage 5 kidney failure. When she was born we didn’t know if she was a boy or girl for 3 days; she had genetic testing to determine. On top of kidney disease she has ambiguous genitalia. When you approach A’Miracle she looks as if nothing is wrong, but daily she’s being hooked up to a dialysis machine for 12 hours and tube feedings. Recently we had our 2nd longest hospital stay since birth; she was there just shy of 9 weeks. During that time she had 7 surgeries, including an emergency open heart surgery and a 15-hour bladder surgery. She had to have the bladder built before she can receive a kidney transplant. The other 6 surgeries were not planned. We are patiently waiting kidney transplant in hopes of having some normalcy. We have partnered with the Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) for assistance with transplant-related expenses. Please consider donating to COTA in honor of A’Miracle.

The Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) helps children and young adults who need a life-saving transplant by providing fundraising assistance and family support. COTA is the nation’s only fundraising organization solely dedicated to raising life-saving dollars in honor of transplant-needy children and young adults. 100% of each contribution made to COTA in honor of our patients helps meet transplant-related expenses. COTA’s services are free to our families, and gifts to COTA are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
