We are happy to share the wonderful news – about a month ago Ariana received a very special, long-awaited gift of a new kidney! Late Saturday night on May 25th, we received a call from the Children’s Hospital that they had a perfect kidney for Ariana, but the surgery wasn’t confirmed until early next morning. We were all so excited and elated to finally get this call. This past month has been very busy for our family. Ariana is doing very well, looks healthy, has an incredible appetite and is eager to try new foods.  She finally started growing again after a year of losing weight. She’s happy that she hasn’t missed much school and will be starting 1st grade with a perfectly working kidney. We are optimistic about the new school year as she has an entire summer to recover and get used to new routines.

This is a life-long journey for Ariana and our family, and this new kidney is a huge milestone that allows her to have a fulfilling and joyful life until the time comes to replace it.
