Aloha everyone,
Aurelia was admitted into the CVICU (Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit) yesterday, 11/5/25.
On, 11/4/25 Aurelia was diagnose with Chickenpox’s caused by the vaccine she received two weeks prior. Aurelia had two pox bumps show up on her body which prompted the hospital to put her in isolation until both pox’s scab over. Unrelated to the Chickenpox’s, but unfortunately that same day, Aurelia also started gagging, feeling nauseated, later vomiting and she spiked two fevers. Aurelia was not herself, she was struggling physical and emotionally. Aurelia named that day, “Trashy Day” and that she wants to throw that day away in the rubbish. Aurelia experiences several hours of discomfort but she was being watched by the nurses and doctors on staff. During this whole process her heart was compromised.
Aurelia does need extra support and to be closely monitored. On 11/5/25 she was admitted into the CVICU where she can be closely monitored. Blood cultures came back and she has a bacterial infection which explains the fevers. I spoke with her doctors and Aurelia will be going for a BiVAD soon. We are waiting for the bacterial infection to clear out of her system. I will update more when we have a scheduled surgery date and time.
The past two nights, Aurelia has been experiencing intense pain in her stomach. I have never seen her in this much pain before. Doctors has explained to us that the heart is not pumping adequately to all of her organs and her stomach is experiencing cramping. Her stomach is not getting the appropriate amount of blood and oxygen which is causing it to cramp. All of her medications are through her PICC line and iv line to help alleviated the discomfort. Aurelia continues to push through these hard moments. Aurelia has stated she is scared, worried and stressed out. BUT I must say, Aurelia is so brave. She will push herself and her expectation for herself is high. At times, I have to remind her to allow herself grace and allow herself to rest. When she gets mad at her heart and her body, I have to remind her to BELIEVE and KNOW that her body is doing everything it needs to do in order to keep her going. SHE is SO STRONG!!!!
Thank you for always being a support for Aurelia and our family!!!!!
