Update 1/7/26

Aurelia transplant status was changed today, 1/7/26 from 7 to 1A. She is back on the list. On Monday, 1/5/26 Aurelia had a liver biopsy procedure, she was admitted into the CVICU for a few hours(doctors were afraid she might bleed out and lose too much blood after the procedure) but she was re-admitted back to the regular hospital floor room. (Which means, I moved all of our belongings two times into three different rooms that day…lol I walked almost 9,000 steps just in the hospital…lol my back was on fire that night! Hahaha I’m better now!!!)

The next day on 1/6/26, Aurelia had a CT scan of her chest and abdomen. I am so proud of Aurelia. That day, Aurelia walked the furthest she has done since putting in her BiVADs. AURELIA WANTED to walk from her room, out of her unit, down the hall, into the elevator, down to the ground floor and walk down a long, long hall way to the CT room. She was walking, talking and giggling. She did amazing on that walk. She did the CT scan then she rode back in the wheelchair back to her room. It took Aurelia’s nurse, a nurse aide and myself helping Aurelia manage her i.v. pole, her BiVAD machine plus her wheelchair and watching over her as she walked to the CT room. It was an excursion.

The results from both the biopsy and scan showed some damage to her liver but it was not significant damage that would require a transplant of the liver. The liver is one of those amazing organs that can regenerate itself so once she gets a heart her liver will be able to bounce back and heal itself.

We are so thankful for this news because, the wait time for a heart and liver transplant is double or triple the wait time. Thank you God for allowing Aurelia’s liver to stay healthy!!! Thank you everyone that was praying for her and us!!!

Thank you for your continued support, love, and prayers for her and us!!!  1/7/26

Aurelia is doing well right now and she is happy and playful and her overall mental, emotional and physical state is improving. Since putting in her BiVADs in November, Aurelia was struggling greatly with her mental, emotional, physical and overall outlook on her life. There were times within the day where she would do well, then there were times where she had a good few hours in a day that was good but the majority of November and December she struggled with her overall outlook on her situation. Aurelia fell into depression and her outlook on her situation was negative. In December she started medication to help her with her overall mental health and last week her whole personality started to come back, she started to laugh more, she started joking more, she started playing more, she started to be herself again. And this week, she just blossomed back to her old self. She looks so much more happier and healthier! She is so much more talkative and playful. I will post photos soon.
