Aurelia is going into open heart surgery to place a BiVAD right NOW! 

Aurelia is ready and she is so positive!!! 

Aurelia is expected to stay in the operating room for about 12 hours. We will update everyone when she is out of surgery. 

A BiVAD (Biventricular Assist Device) is a mechanical pump that helps both the left and right side of a failing heart circulate blood to the body and lungs. 

****This is NOT the Heart Transplant. This is a bridge to get Aurelia to a transplant. Because her heart is weakening fast and needs extra support. This machine will support her body so her heart doesn’t give out before she gets blessed with a donor heart. 

We were notified that there is a risk of losing Aurelia. But we believe Aurelia is strong and can get through anything!!! Aurelia is a fighter!!! Aurelia is a survivor!!! Aurelia is truly an inspiration of strength and resilience!!!
