On 4/13/2026 Aurelia had her heart transplant. This will be her second birthday and a day we will forever celebrate. Aurelia is doing wonderful. Her heart transplant surgery was a success!!! The heart is a perfect fit and Aurelia and the new heart is working beautifully. 

Aurelia went down to the operating room around 8:20am and didn’t get done until 7:00pm. She went to the CVICU around 8:00pm and we didn’t get to see her until 10:00pm. She is intubated and sedated but she looks great. The staff at CVICU was so excited to welcome her back and was stopping by to congratulate us and her on her new heart. 

A funny story, the night before her surgery, 4/12, I needed to pick Kaimi up at the airport. When we came back from the airport, Aurelia let us know that she and her nurses were singing, talking story, and playing around. Aurelia had so much energy and could not go to sleep that she stayed up until 5:45pm and she woke up at 6:30am to get ready.  

Around 1:00am, she and her nurses were play Gin Rummy, laughing and joking with each other. Aurelia was so happy and so excited.  

Monday morning, 4/13/2026 Aurelia had her parade as she was transported to the operating room. Aurelia was able to choose Kolohe Kai, Round and Around doing to play as night shift nurses plus day time shift nurses and staff cheered her on. Aurelia was so happy and so excited to get her heart. Aurelia stated that she only had one fear, which was the fear of her body rejecting the heat. Im excited to say, so far both the new heart and Aurelia is doing wonderful. Her vitals are great, the surgery went amazing and she looks great. Thank you God for providing and protecting her!!!
