A little over a week ago, we said goodbye to Bear’s primary kidney doctor, Dr. Jones. For the last 3 years, Bear has been under her care and watchful eye as we navigate dialysis, feeds, growth, milestones, and overall development. I gave her this picture of her and Bear as a thank you gift from the NICU days and she cried! That’s when you know you picked the right person. Dr. Jones was there from the very beginning. She has had some really tough conversations with Josh and I, where she told us he was very sick and advised us that we needed to start dialysis soon. She has continued to be so helpful and always listened anytime we were uncertain encouraging us every step of the way. We are going to miss Dr. Jones and our dialysis team so much!
I can’t believe I’m typing this, but we are 12 days away from transplant! Our bloodwork came back perfectly and we completed our final preop testing things. The only thing remaining is a Covid test and baseline bloodwork for Bear that isn’t able to be completed until the week of surgery.
Please continue to pray for our family as we get closer to transplant.

You are in my thoughts and prayers. What a beautiful picture. I am Erin McCalls Mom, and I know how brave and strong you are. Your little Bear is a hero and will amaze you with strength and perseverance. 🙏🏻🙏🏻
