Meeting Zack’s “Explant” & Bingo Fun

Explant (ex·plant ˈek-ˌsplant. : living tissue removed from an organism and placed in a medium for tissue culture) and Bingo

We had a very good, and interesting week last week.

We have been able to be at home for about a full month now. Zack has been attending school for about three hours a day and will move to full days soon. Incredible, right?!!

Zack had a liver clinic follow up on Monday . We went to the basement of Children’s Hospital to meet with the pathologist who analyzed Zack’s liver.

We looked under the microscope at the cells, and got to hold his “explant” (old liver). Some of us stood closer than others. 🙂

Zack is holding his “explant” which is larger than normal due to the tumors within

On Saturday, there was a COTA Bingo event organized by neighbor, Lyndean, and it was great to see all that were able to make it. Zack called the numbers and lots of prizes were won. We moved the event indoors due to weather and it worked out perfectly.

We want to thank everyone who has joined in the COTA events, donated to the website directly, and rallied around our family along this journey. Thanks to COTA’s assistance, we were able to pay off all of Zack’s old medical bills to a balance of zero, and get Zack an adjustable bed to help aid his recovery. This has made such an improvement in our lives and for Zack!!

We are eternally grateful for all of your prayers, well wishes, and support of COTA for Brave Zack.
