We received this really nice care package from COTA. There was a card enclosed that read the following….
The enclosed backpack was donated by a friend of COTA, Donna, whose father had a life-saving lung transplant in Pittsburgh several years ago. She told us that she and her mother had a ‘Go Bag’ they carried to all his appointments because they always had what they needed … medications, a water bottle, pens, and a notebook to make sure they asked all pertinent questions and to make note of updates that were shared, etc. Their Go Bag was kept in the same place, and they could grab it and go – sometimes on very short notice. Donna’s desire is to provide a ‘Go Bag’ to every COTA family because it was truly necessary gear for her family’s transplant journey.
