Well we made it 7 months post transplant without a hospitalization, which feels pretty amazing. But today we got the call that Brooks had to be admitted tonight to the Cleveland Clinic for a biopsy tomorrow. He has been recovering so well physically, but we’ve had a few spells where his labs show elevated liver levels. He’s done a few additional rounds of steroids to get everything under control, but now it’s time to find the cause for these fluctuations. So we’re settled in, still waiting for an ultrasound tonight. Biopsy will be done tomorrow morning sometime under full anesthesia. They’ll keep him 24 hours for observation but told us to plan to be here for a few days.
Thanks to Covid I was originally told I was the only one that could be here with him… but once we got admitted we found out Matt is allowed to join us!!! So he plans to come tomorrow morning.
For the most part Brooks has been having fun with his toys we packed and seems to think it’s a fun camp out since he’s up way past bedtime (we’re both already exhausted) and I keep giving him cookies.haha He’s really hating his IV in his hand and I’m dreading the morning of no food or drink prior to his procedure, but we’ll hope to power through!
Being here again brings back all kinds of emotions, but we’re praising the Lord for such an amazing team. We appreciate any prayers for a smooth procedure and that they’re able to find answers.
