Transplanting a Heart

9pm. The most amazing medical team wheeled Caleb to the OR.  This has been my view for the past 5 hours.  Praising.  Dancing.  Declaring God’s promises.  Helping his nurses prep the place and prepare it for Caleb to come and continue his healing process.

All ivs had been successfully placed and they were making the first incision.  Abba, let’s do this.

His new heart arrived and looked great.  Such awe overtook me.  Tears of thankfulness for a family that in the midst of their grief today, chose to give Caleb the gift of life. Abba wrap them in your love and bless them abundantly for this precious heart they gave to Caleb today.

Bypass began and pumps began to do the work of his heart while they took out his old.  It has served him for 17 years, but God has plans to prosper him, to give him a hope and a future.  Plans to heal him and restore his heart to full.

His heart doctor and heart surgeon said the surgery went flawlessly.  His new heart has great function.  Is a perfect fit. And began beating immediately after coming off bypass.

Thank you Abba that Caleb has a strong heart.  His heart beats with the rhythm of life, restoring life abundantly.  Abba, we praise you for this precious gift you are giving Caleb right now.

  1. Lord, we praise you for a heart that beats!!!!! We thank you for a team who has gone to school, trained, and prepared for this moment. We praise you for a new day. Thank you Lord for a grieving family who said yes to life for others. Abba, Father, we thank you for Caleb today!!!

  2. Tears of joy flow as we rejoice with you! What a miracle. Praise God for this wellspring of life!

  3. Praising Jesus alongside you friends! I told my children about Caleb’s journey and they were in awe… and FULL of questions about organ transplant. I’d say it was a beautiful opportunity to lift you all up in prayer and a homeschool win too. 😉 Sending love and continued prayers.
