It has been one year now as of June 4, 2019. 365 days of freedom from oxygen tanks and tubing and breathing treatments and the vest. Sometimes it seems like I never lived like that and sometimes it feels like another lifetime ago. It’s so exciting all the things I am able to do now since my transplant.
I think of my donor every day and take her with me everywhere that I go no matter what. She is always on my mind. I have written two letters to her family thanking then for the generous gift of life that can never be paid back other then to live to the fullest and never give up. Which is what I do now even more then ever.
In the last year I have been back to horse back riding horses and able to work with them the way I haven’t been able to for years. I am/was able to take care of and foster/ physical therapy a blind goat back to her confidence to get around and keep living instead of laying around and quitting.
I have been able to help friends paint and help friends move and do other things that before transplant I could not have done. I am able to help other friends too in ways that they need me. I am able to make it to Dr appointments by myself and walk all over the hospital to visit my Unit 15 the CF unit at KU. And I am currently helping a dear and closest friend of mine by fostering her dog for her and 10 puppies.
Given all this information it is important for everyone to know I am thankful and appreciate all donations that anyone helped with. That is what helped quite a bit with bills after the transplant. I still need any help or donations to go toward cota for CarrieN to help Carrie Nicholson with future medicl bills and the medicines that keep me doing so well to help avoid rejection and help to keep me going on a regular basis. The medicines are quite pricy and some times the insurance doesn’t want to pay and the co-pays can be as much as my husbands pay check weekly.
I am grateful for everyone that has donated and I appreciate anything that people can continue to donate. Please keep the help coming to cota for Carrie N. It is much appreciated and very much needed. There will be another fund raiser coming soon of some sort to also help. And thank you again for the help and support of Carrie’s Breath of Fresh Air. Without everryone’s help it would be a struggle to be where I am today. Much Love to everyone that helps and has helped.
