One Year Check Up!!

I went to St.l Louis June 20, 2019 for my one year check up and bronchoscopy. The bronch is where they go in with a camera in the bronchual airways and take a sample of the lungs to send it to lab to test for rejection or any problems. Also took lots of blood for the annual testing of antibodies and such things. The trip went very well and I got to visit with wonderful friends that I haven’t seen in a few months. Got the results back from the bronch on Monday and there is NO rejection (which is great news)!! I’ve heard the first year is the hardest to get through so to get through it with no rejection is wonderful. And I am very excited about this.

On Monday june 24th I went to KU and had a belly button hernia fixed and spent the night on Unit 15 (my 2nd home for many years where I did my ‘tune ups’). I got to see a few of my favorite nurses that I grew close with over the years.

It’s been a while since I have stayed in the hospital anywhere and I am so very grateful to my donor for that because through her gift of life is what makes it possible for me to stay out of the hospitals. That and taking my meds correctly,. Which, is still where donations come in to play with the situation. Some of the copays are quite expensive and the COTA for Carrie N helps out with the copays and also still helps with traveling to and from Dr’s appointments. I am thankful for everyone’s donations and appreciate it very much. I am asking to keep donations coming to help with all Dr’s appointments that help in keeping me healthy and being able to use the gift of life that I was given to be able to do the things that I enjoy so much in life now…

Please continue to help with Carrie’s Breath of Fresh Air to keep everything easy and copays to help with medicines. Thank you very much!!!
