Connor Goff was born with the genetic disease Cystic Fibrosis. He had a healthy childhood but due to the progressive nature of the disease his lung function began to decrease. Cystic fibrosis causes the mucus in the body to be thicker and leads to lung infections, digestive issues and other complications. In Connor’s case, his liver has become damaged as well. In 2017, he was told that it was time to be put on the transplant list for double lung and liver. Connor recently received his transplant on April 28th at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio in the early recovery stages. He and his wife will be moving to the area for post-transplant care for a minimum of three months.
The Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) helps children and young adults who need a life-saving transplant by providing fundraising assistance and family support. COTA is the nation’s only fundraising organization solely dedicated to raising life-saving dollars in honor of transplant-needy children and young adults. 100% of each contribution made to COTA in honor of our patients helps meet transplant-related expenses. COTA’s services are free to our families, and gifts to COTA are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
