Our Story

Conor Gregory is 3 years old. He was born with hypoplastic left heart syndrome, which is a congenital heart disease. He has had three open heart surgeries since he was born; and countless other procedures in between. He was on the road to recovery from his third heart surgery in October 2022. In December 2022, he was admitted for fluid buildup around his lungs. They were able to get some of that fluid pulled off and was thankfully discharged on Christmas Eve. Unfortunately, the fluid came back, and he was admitted again on December 28th, 2022 to current. On January 6th, 2023; doctors informed Amanda and Branden that Conor had heart failure and was going to need a heart transplant. Before his transplant can take place, he will have to travel to Philadelphia for another procedure- Lymphatic surgery (this will block off the fatty arteries that are causing the fluid buildup). Once back in Colorado, he will be put on the heart transplant list- which could take weeks to months to get a donor heart… During this portion of the waiting game, Conor will be hospitalized until he receives a donor heart. Amanda works as a CNA through the state to be the caregiver of Conor, and unfortunately, with Conor being in the hospital, she does not have that additional income to lean on. With this, Branden and Amanda are financially battling medical expenses as well as everyday bills.

Branden, Amanda and Brooklynn (sister) are staying hopeful during this very difficult time. They have partnered with COTA for assistance with transplant-related expenses to help take some of the burden away. Any donation amount to COTA for Conor’s Journey is greatly appreciated! If you’re unable to donate, please keep the Gregory family in your prayers.

As Branden and Amanda provide updates, we will be sure to keep everyone informed.

The Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) helps children and young adults who need a life-saving transplant by providing fundraising assistance and family support. COTA is the nation’s only fundraising organization solely dedicated to raising life-saving dollars in honor of transplant-needy children and young adults. 100% of each contribution made to COTA in honor of our patients helps meet transplant-related expenses. COTA’s services are free to our families, and gifts to COTA are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
