Devon’s transplant surgery started shortly after 7AM today. It lasted 7 hours and the great news was that, according to the head surgeon, “It couldn’t have gone more perfectly.  It’s like the donor was made for her!”  He also said, “man, that girl is tough!”  Of course we already knew that.  Devon is our Wonder Woman and we are all so very proud of her!  We all know it’s going to be a very long road of recovery for Devon.  The next four months are critical, but she’ll need a lot of special medical attention for about the next 12 months.

I personally, as Angela’s father, am also extremely proud of her.  I can’t imagine how anyone could have done more to support Devon, physically and emotionally than Angela.  It’s been a very long year for both of them and I’m sure all the support from family and friends have meant the world to them.  Thanks so much for all the prayers and support as we enter the next phase of Devon’s journey.
