Donald has a significant amount of confusion and delirium. This is something they see sometimes. He also has some neurological struggles but nothing of any significance. Because his new liver cannot process ammonia as needed he will have those Neuro problems. PT came by and since he is having a significant amount of confusion/delirium he just worked with him a bit in the bed (foot flexing, leg/arm stretching). He was finally able to have ice chips and water last night. Today he was able to have some jello (he told them “orange…orange Jello” 8 times). Receiving about a unit of blood each day, which is typical. He remains on dialysis for now until his kidneys kick in again. This can take some time as the kidneys must regrow cells. The BEST news I have to share is that labs are coming back and show improved INR and liver function!! Please pray that the delirium and confusion subside. Also for his neurological function to improve. I know it will it’s just rough to see and deal with because there’s no way to help it!
