Eirik’s lungs have stopped bleeding. The transplant centers want him off ECMO (life support) for them to consider him for transplant. We have tried for a couple days to wean him off ECMO and it has been unsuccessful. So we wait. If he doesn’t get off ECMO in the next week, we’ll be at a crossroads. Every day he gets weaker. Every day there are more options for complications. Every day he could also be rallying and healing. We just don’t know.
