Hi Elizabeth’s People!

 

Mollie (Elizabeth’s sister) reporting to you LIVE with an update on how our favorite lady is doing! It’s been quite the whirlwind for the past 24+ hours… Elizabeth received THE CALL that she’s been waiting on for two and a half years… She got an offer for new lungs and a liver Wednesday afternoon (Nov. 4th) from a “new to the game” nurse. She politely accepted and started to fill the bag she’s been trying to pack for quite some time. In true Elizabeth fashion, she remained calm throughout the whole process. She arrived at the hospital around 8pm with her beloved husband, Jamie. Since it is covid season, she is only allowed one visitor at the hospital for the duration of her transplant stay. We are grateful that Jamie is by her side, as always. 

 

Later this morning (Nov. 5th) we got the message that the surgery was a GO – the lungs and liver are a perfect match for her! She went into surgery early this afternoon. As it stands, Elizabeth’s new shiny lungs have been placed and they are currently working on her liver. Her surgery will be done in the wee hours of tomorrow morning. We are thrilled for her new life that is about to begin. She has waited well during this season, and we couldn’t be more proud of her. She is the epitome of grace and is a true light in our world. We are so grateful that her faith has sustained her during this time. Elizabeth is an example of true strength in so many ways to all of us.

 

We ask that you continue to pray and send all the positive energy and happy dances you’ve got for her as she will need them for her recovery journey. In the meantime,  as you know, this process is not only grueling on Elizabeth, it is also costly.
