2019 is officially the worst year ever.
Yesterday, Olivia was diagnosed with Cardiomyopathy.
She has a different type than Ella. It is not as aggressive and Olivia is NOT in heart failure. Her heart is working at a reduced function and her body is compensating (she is not showing any cardiac symptoms). Her treatment should be pretty noninvasive for now and focus on medication and monitoring the progression.
Olivia will be seen by the same cardiology team at Seattle Children’s as Ella. They know her, they know the family, and I have complete faith in them.
Trav will have his heart checked in the next few weeks. He has been asymptomatic his entire life… I hope he stays this way.
In August, we had no clue. Here we are in November, 3 months after Ella’s symptoms started and the three people I love most in the world have a ticking time bomb inside their chests.
