Hello and welcome to our first blog post!
We are looking forward to updating everyone on Emily’s journey with oncoming blog posts leading up to transplant.

March has proved to be a busy month with hospital consultations with two of the three prospective transplant hospitals: Vanderbilt University Hospital and NYU Langone Hospital.

Vanderbilt University Hospital 
We traveled to the charming city of Chattanooga, Tennessee on March 6th for a consultation with Vanderbilt. This consultation involved talking with the nurse practitioner and doctors to go over pre and post surgery procedures done in their hospital to wager Emily’s comfortability with them and their practices. The visit left us feeling hopeful, as all of our questions were answered really well and honestly. 

NYU Langone Hospital 
Just a couple days after Tennessee, we flew up to New York City to go to the NYU Langone consultation. This process looked very similar to the one for Vanderbilt and left us with similar feelings of being confident in the medical team’s abilities and satisfied with the full coverage of their answers to our questions. 

Our Next Steps  
In the not so distant future, we will be flying back up to NYC and staying for a few days for an official evaluation for NYU Langone. This process will be more involved, having Emily doing multiple tests to gauge her health pre transplant for the perfect set of lungs. Later in April, we will be proceeding further with UCLA University Hospital, for their evaluation and testing. Additionally, we are happy to announce that our social media pages on both Instagram and Facebook are live for you to follow and get updates along with our blog!
