Round 8: post-op day 230

So far so good……Emmy started back to school with the school making many accommodations so Emmy could learn in a safe environment.  We are very fortunate to live in a school district that is kind and caring. Emmy has had a wonderful start to her school year.  All of her teachers have been very understanding with the safety precautions.  Emmy has started the year with great grades and enjoys going to school.  Everyday is a new adventure!  Tonight I thought about where we were 7 months ago until today.  Emmy is still healing.  I see it in her physical movements and she becomes exhausted easier.  However, we are getting her moving and pushing her a little more physically and mentally. Patrick and I are just thankful where she is at this moment. We asked for a physical therapy consult because Emmy is extremely stiff and is not as mobile as she was before the transplant.  She also recently got glasses because she was having difficulty seeing from the back of the classroom.  We go back to the doctor on October 20th which will be her 3 month visit. I will update then how she is progressing.  #fighter.
